AFL Women\u2019s 2020 Round 1 is this weekend! 👏
We cannot wait to watch all the Irish Players in action across the various clubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


DID YOU KNOW THAT
of the 18 Irish Players ☘️signed up this year that prior to heading to Australia :
– 7 have played for the Irish Banshees and represented Ireland at various International Competitions (AFL International Cup 17, Euro Cup 18, European Championships 19)
Clara Fitzpatrick (St. Kilda), Ailish Considine (Adelaide) Aisling McCarthy (Western Bulldogs),Aine Tighe ( Fremantle) , Joanne Doonan (Carlton), Kate Flood (Fremantle) Mairead Seoighe (North Melbourne)
– 9 have played in various AFL Ireland Women\u2019s Competitions (Harvey Norman Premiership, Super 7\u2019s, City Blitz etc). Clara Fitzpatrick (St. Kilda), Ailish Considine (Adelaide), Grace Kelly (West Coast), Niamh Kelly (West Coast), Aine Tighe (Fremantle), Aileen Gilroy (North Melbourne), Joanne Doonan (Carlton), Kate Flood (Fremantle) Mairead Seoighe (North Melbourne) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This years action begins on Friday 7th February with the clash between Richmond and last years grand finalists Carlton, where Fermanagh’s Joanne Doonan will make her AFLW competitive debut having been named on the Carlton list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is huge excitement ahead of Round 1 as 15 of the 17 of Irish Players have been named in the club team lists for this weekend\u2019s games, with competitive AFL Women\u2019s Premiership debuts for Aileen Gilroy (North Melbourne), Joanne Doonan (Carlton), Sinead Goldrick (Melbourne), Orla O\u2019Dwyer (Brisbane) , Grace Kelly (West Coast ), Niamh Kelly ( West Coast), Kate Flood (Fremantle), Clara Fitzpatrick (St. Kilda), Aisling Sheridan (Collingwood), Katy Herron (Western Bulldogs) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
