The Banshees (ranked number 1) first entered international competition in 2010 and since then have only lost three games, winning 11 International titles along the way. They won the inaugural women’s edition of the International Cup in 2011, lost the 2014 final to Canada before regaining the International Cup title at Etihad Stadium in 2017. The Women are hoping to continue dominating internationally at the European Championships in Croatia this October.
Irish women’s footy is currently on a high with 19 players currently plying their trade in the AFLW and are the current holders of every competition that we can compete in, the International Cup, the European Championships, the Euro Cup, and the European Club Champions Cup.
