The Irish Banshees will defend their Euro Cup title in Stirling, Scotland next June. The annual 9-a-side tournament sees national sides face off to contest for the title of European Champions. It is scheduled for Saturday 6th June 2020.
The Women’s National side, won last years event which took place in Norrtajle, Sweden, and will be looking to defend their title once again when they travel to the Scottish Highlands next summer.
It is a great opportunity for AFL Scotland to showcase the sport, particularly in Stirling, a city which currently doesn’t have a footy team of it’s own. President of AFL Scotland, David Baldie said that “We can’t wait to bring footy to the locals of Stirling and introduce them to both the sport itself and the AFL Europe community. This could be exactly what we need to get a new AFL Scotland club up and running in the area!”
Meanwhile, the Irish Warriors, will be looking to go one better at next years event, having finished runners up last time out aginst England.
Whatever the outcome, we know our Banshees and Warriors will do the country proud.
